You can recover from abuse

In this section of our website you can get the help you need to support recovery from abuse and improve wellbeing. We offer a tiered service, based on your level of risk and a needs-led assessment. All clients are free to enter our services at different stages, leave and return at a later stage when they feel ready to do so.

Please be advised that we have a waiting list for our trauma informed practitioners and longer term therapy work, which means clients won't receive a service straight away, however anyone who is referred will be assessed at some point. However, we are able to provide signposting information and advice over the phone and by email straight away. There are also resources on our website that we encourage all clients to look at whilst they wait for our services. We look forward to welcoming you and supporting you through our services soon.

We’re committed to supporting anyone affected by rape, exploitation, sexual and domestic abuse across Cumbria, no matter their gender, age or circumstances. This includes people in the LGBT+, BAME and neurodivergent communities - our therapeutic support is always mindful of how identity and differences interact with our experiences.

We recognise that due to the nature of abuse, many clients have experienced trauma. Symptoms of trauma can include depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder symptoms, difficulty managing emotions navigating relationships, and more.

Our services are specifically designed to help you recover from this abuse and trauma, and you can learn more about this by reading about our approach.

“I could sit and write a book on the whole experience, it has been life changing… I am so excited for my future now. My therapist was absolutely amazing and the whole experience will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
